Our provision is a safe, enabling, appealing, engaging and inclusive environment both indoors and out. We are a well-qualified team which allows us to fully deliver the care, learning & play requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to each and every child in our care. We are described by Ofsted as a highly motivated and reflective childminder, holding Healthy Tots accreditation due to our focus on emotional health and wellbeing, physical activity and healthy eating.

Our team ethos is that everyone is valued and we work hard to ensure we continually maintain a healthy, supportive & happy team. We feel very strongly that this creates a confident, productive & successful working environment and atmosphere that fully supports the children and staff to thrive and flourishWe are open all year round, Monday-Friday 8am-5.45pm, and also operate a small out of school provision.

Childminding Business of the Year 2023

We were over the moon to win the Childminding Business of the Year award, sponsored by Childcare.co.uk, at the Nursery World Awards. The event was held on 29th September 2023 at The Brewery, London.

One judge commented that Cheeky Cherubs was a “lovely, homely, rural setting where children are listened to, respected and thrive”. We couldn’t be happier or prouder of our team and the amazing children we get to spend our days with, and we are truly grateful for this recognition.

LIFE AT CHEEKY CHERUBS

At the farm

We have two large playrooms and two large outdoor play spaces, containing trees, sandpits, vegetable beds, a willow tunnel, an all weather surface for speedy balance bike riding, very important digging areas, a mini mountain where a future Olympic long or high jumper can fine-tune their skills, tractor tyres full of mud and Farm Grandma’s allotment where we grow pumpkins and eat home grown raspberries!

Our animals include chickens, ducks, cows, a house rabbit called Bluebell, a farm dog and a farm cat. We are hoping to add two pigs to our list of animals this year too!

Fostering curiosity, imagination & creativity

Why Cheeky Cherubs?

A day in the life

The children’s day at the farm is varied and largely led by the children and their interests. We have pit stops for yummy snacks and meals along the way, but otherwise it’s down to the serious art of playing and being immersed in hands-on fun and learning both indoors and outdoors.

Our approach

The children are encouraged and supported to be independent learners, to find their voice and be confident to follow their own ideas. We work on small adult/child ratios of 1:3. Our activities are a long list and luckily we are in no rush, we like to take our time and enjoy the moment.

Imagination Play

Contact with nature provides the children with a rich source of first-hand natural & meaningful experiences which foster curiosity, imagination, creativity and a sense of freedom, which enhances many areas of learning and development such as physical , emotional & social skills.
